TODAY AT THE FESTIVAL NOVEMBER 1, 2018, THURSDAY

 

  • Chinese director Sheng Qiu’s “Suburban Birds”, an entertaining, absurd and Kafkaesque coming of age story about a group of ghetto children, that vied at the Contemporary Filmmakers section of Locarno, will be screened with the participation of the director at Atlas Movie Theatre at 12:00.

 

  • “Winter Flies”, Slovenian director Olmo Omerzu’s coming of age & road movie that won the Best Director Award at Karlovy Vary will be screened with the participation of the director and cast at Atlas Movie Theatre at 16.00.

 

  • “Bomb: A Love Story”, the second directing attempt of Payman Maadi, the Iranian actor we know well from his acting performance in “A Separation” (2011) will be screened at Kadikoy Movie Theatre at 19.00.

  • South African Jahmil X.T. Qubeka’s “Sew the Winter to My Skin” (2018), the true story told with a Western epic style, of an ill-famed outlaw who has reached to a status of public hero, that was screened at London and Toronto film festivals will be screened at Kadikoy Movie Theatre at 21:30.

 

TOMORROW AT THE FESTIVAL NOVEMBER 2, 2018, FRIDAY


 

  • “Adam”, a true story that competed at Generation 14plus section of Berlinale and selected as the Best Film at Kitzbuehel Film Festival, by the Icelandic director Maria Solrun, who had returned to film sets following 14 years of silence after her film “Jargo” (2004) will be screened at Atlas Movie Theatre at 12.00 with the participation of the director and lead actor.

 

  • Portuguese producer and distributer Paulo Branco, who has worked for more than 200 titles, will share his experiences with the cinephiles, based on the films he made with directors such as Wim Wenders, Manoel De Oliveira and Chantel Akerman. Realized with the contributions of  TürkMedya, Paulo Branco Master Class will be held at Soho House Istanbul at 13:00!

 

  • Almost every of his films became a cult one, we will listen to Norwegian master Bent Hamer on the northern cinema, his own works and his relation to filmmaking. Realized with the contributions of  TürkMedya, Bent Hamer Master Class will be held at Soho House Istanbul at 16:00.

 

  • “The Queen Of Fear”, co-directed by Fabiana Tiscornia and one of the most influential actresses of Argentinean cinema, Valeria Bertuccelli, who also starred as the lead role, that won Special Jury Award from the World Competition section of Sundance will be screened Atlas Movie Theatre at 16:00.
