Brillante Ma Mendoza and Kim-Ki Duk are coming to Istanbul

Presenting the latest works from Turkey and the world cinema, the guest of honors of this year’s festival will be the Filipino director Brillante Ma Mendoza and the South Korean master director Kim-Ki Duk.

Masterclass from the Jury President; Brillante Ma Mendoza! 


The jury president of the festival presenting a variety of film selections, the master director will share his experiences with cinephiles at October 22, Tuesday.
The masterclass will be realized at 5-6.30 p.m. at Akademi Beyoğlu Conference Room with the moderation of Murat Tırpan. Meeting with the cinephiles, the master director will share his experiences distilled from his 31 project-filmography that he built starting from 2002. Those cinephiles who would like to obtain a unique filmmaking perspective with Mendoza who says “I pay attention to whether the director could show what (s)he essentially intended to say without being ambitious” should not miss this masterclass!
A veteran for the official competition section of Cannes, the master director has met with the audiences at many prestigious festivals including Berlin and Venice International Film Festival. The winner of the Best Director Award at Cannes Film Festival with his film “Kinatay”, Mendoza has had three nominations for Palme D’or. 


Master Director Kim Ki Duk is Meeting with Cinephiles!
To run from October 18-25, 7th Bosphorus Film Festival brings Kim Ki Duk, the master representative of South Korean Cinema together with the cinephiles. With 32 productions he realized since 1996, the master director will realize a Master Class as a part of Bosphorus Film Lab. The event will be organized with the moderation of Emrah Kılıç, the Artistic Director of the festival, at Feriye Movie Theater at October 24, Thursday at 18-19.30 pm.  
The winner of many awards from distinguished film festivals such as Berlin, Venice and Cannes, the master director Kim Ki Duk will provide an unmissable experience by sharing his knowledge of the film industry distilled from his 23 year-long experience. An outstanding implementer of the variety in films, the director reminds his audiences in Turkey once more the significance of the universal cinema as a distinguished personage from South Korean cinema.
As the owner of the festival’s Honorary Award, a special retrospective will meet with the audiences within the festival. In addition to “The Net” and “Pieta”, “Human, Space, Time Human” that was a part of Berlin Film Festival will be screened for the first time in Turkey. 
The events will be realized free of charge at Akademi Beyoğlu and Feriye Movie Theatre with a limited number of seats. The applications will be made via an entry form at the section of special events at www.bogazicifilmfestivali.com.
