First Cut Lab in Turkey with Bosphorus Film Festival!

Together with the collaboration with First Cut Lab, Bosphorus Film Lab is on the boil for bringing together three national projects with international film experts.

First Cut Lab in Turkey with Bosphorus Film Festival!

Organized by International Bosphorus Cinema Association, and with the contribution of Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism, General Directorate of Cinema, and with the support of TRT as the Institutional Partner, Anadolu Agency as the Global Communication Partner, 7th edition of Bosphorus Film Festival - to run from October 18-25 - has collaborated with First Cut Lab, a workshop programme designed to develop the work-in-progress feature films in accordance with the international standards.

As a part of Bosphorus Film Lab, the industry section of Bosphorus Film Festival, a workshop programme will be organized for national projects with the cooperation of First Cut Lab, a workshop programme designed in 2015 to cooperate with international film festivals to develop the projects that have completed their first or rough cut.

Directors and producers of three features to be selected among the work-in-progress projects that have applied to the Turkey edition of First Cut Lab, which will take place on October 18-25, 2019, will attend in a special workshop with three film experts and will qualify for having counselling service from the expert consultants.

The applications to the programme to be realized for the first time with the aim of developing the projects to their best versions in accordance with the international standards will be open till September 15, 2019. Regarding the collaboration agreement that was concluded at the Turkey Pavilion in this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Emrah Kılıç, Artistic Director of Bosphorus Film Festival, expressed his pleasure in organizing Turkey edition of First Cut Lab and identified their aim as increasing the appeal of the projects for international film markets and enhancing their international visibility.

And Matthieu Darras, Director of First Cut Lab emphasized his impression with the festival’s selection, composed of the latest Turkish films. Indicating his enhanced interest and faith in Turkish cinema, Darras underlined, due to the high potential of Bosphorus Film Festival, that he and Emrah Kılıç, Artistic Director of the festival have agreed to bring “First Cut Lab” to Turkey.
